[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] Trot singer Kim Ho-joong is under police investigation after a dispute with construction company personnel over a lien on his residence.
According to the police on the 20th, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul received a report around 10:27 PM the previous day about an altercation in front of Kim's home in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, where Kim and two men were pushing each other.
The men involved in the dispute were reportedly related to the construction company working on Kim's villa and were trying to stop Kim Ho-joong from leaving, claiming a lien.
The police stated, "When officers arrived at the scene, Kim had already returned home," and added, "We plan to investigate the involved parties soon regarding any possible assault."

On the same day, Kim's agency, Saenggak-eul Boyeojuneun Entertainment, released an official statement saying, "There was a verbal argument due to a misunderstanding while returning home, and the police were dispatched following residents' reports. Both sides reconciled, and the incident ended as a misunderstanding," adding, "We confirm that no physical assault occurred."
