[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Gyeongbuk Province announced on the 20th that it will conduct a special inspection on sewage treatment conditions at camping sites within the province until September 17th, in line with the summer vacation season.
This special inspection will be carried out jointly with the relevant city and county authorities, focusing on whether sewage is being discharged illegally from the 307 registered camping sites in the province, as well as the proper operation and management of sewage treatment facilities (including septic tanks).
The main inspection items include compliance with installation and reporting of private sewage treatment facilities (sewage treatment facilities, septic tanks), adherence to discharge water quality standards, appointment of technical managers, implementation of internal cleaning, and compliance with related laws and regulations.
Last year, Gyeongbuk Province conducted special inspections on about 170 camping sites within the province, identifying 7 sites in violation, resulting in 6 fines and 7 improvement orders as administrative measures.
