View original image[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Son Seon-hee] Hong Nam-ki, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, visited an infectious disease dedicated hospital, the frontline of COVID-19 quarantine, on the 19th to encourage medical staff who are struggling with heavy workloads.
According to the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Deputy Prime Minister Hong visited Boramae Hospital located in Dongjak-gu, Seoul, at around 10:30 a.m. that day to check the quarantine situation and listen to the difficulties on site. Boramae Hospital is one of the designated infectious disease hospitals equipped with screening clinics, preemptive testing centers, and COVID-19 response beds.
Immediately after visiting the hospital, Hong posted on his social media service (SNS), "I express my respect and admiration to the medical staff who endure with a sense of duty in places with the highest risk of infection," but also wrote, "On the other hand, I feel sorry for having to ask once again for greater sacrifice and endurance."

He added, "The government has continuously expanded compensation for losses to medical institutions and pharmacies," and "The recently submitted second supplementary budget includes 4.4 trillion won for vaccines and quarantine expenses, of which about 900 billion won is allocated for compensation to medical institutions. We will continue to strengthen support for frontline medical institutions in quarantine."
