With a heatwave expected this summer as well, the banking sector plans to deliver fans, circulators, bedding sets, and food kits to about 3,600 low-income elderly living alone households. The Federation has been conducting support projects for elderly living alone in cooperation with the Elderly Living Alone Comprehensive Support Center since 2018.
Kim Kwang-soo, Chairman of the Korea Federation of Banks, said, “We hope this support will be of some help to the elderly who are suffering from the double hardship of COVID-19 and the heatwave,” and added, “The banking sector will continue to make efforts to solve the problems our society faces.”
