Development of a Massage Program to Reduce Cravings for Tobacco
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Bodyfriend (CEO Park Sang-hyun) announced on the 19th that it has newly recruited family medicine specialist Park Hye-a as the head of the Medical R&D Center.
Director Park graduated from Seoul National University College of Medicine and completed the family medicine specialist course at Seoul National University Hospital. She has focused on chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension, as well as obesity, and has been engaged in various clinical activities.
Director Park plans to develop an 'anti-craving massage' program that can reduce the urge to smoke, along with a related application. The massage program aims to help delay the time to the first cigarette after waking up, which is used as a tool to assess nicotine dependence, while the application will include a smoking cessation diary and tips to help increase the success rate of quitting smoking.

Additionally, she plans to research and develop female-only massage programs that consider women's physical characteristics, including developing massage chairs tailored to the standard female body shape. Director Park said, "As a family medicine specialist, I have been very interested in disease prevention and health promotion through lifestyle improvement," adding, "I joined Bodyfriend because I believed I could fully utilize the specialty's characteristics of providing comprehensive medical care to patients and their families across all ages."
