On the 18th at around 7 p.m., Mokpo Maritime Police received a report that Ms. A (female, in her 60s) on Heuksando Island, Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do, was experiencing severe abdominal pain.
The maritime police dispatched a patrol vessel and coordinated with the coastal rescue boat from the local police substation to begin emergency transport at 7:22 p.m. that day, safely handing over the patient and her guardian to the 119 ambulance team waiting at Seomang Port, Jindo-gun, at 11:20 p.m.
On the same day at around 1:34 p.m., a report was received that Mr. B (male, in his 60s), who was enjoying water leisure activities on Udo Island, Mokpo City, had injured his head on a leisure boat.
The maritime police urgently dispatched the coastal rescue boat from the substation to the scene and conducted emergency transport, arriving at Bukhang Pier at 2:27 p.m. that day, where they safely handed over the patient and his guardian to the 119 ambulance team waiting in advance.
Both emergency patients, Ms. A and Mr. B, who were urgently transported with the help of the maritime police, are known to be receiving treatment at a hospital in Mokpo.
