According to industry sources on the 18th, Renault Samsung Motors decided to suspend operations at the Busan plant on the 19th and 20th due to a shortage of semiconductor parts supply.
This is the first time this year that Renault Samsung Motors has closed its plant due to a semiconductor shortage.
The company explained that, thanks to Renault Group's active support in supplying semiconductor parts, vehicle production proceeded smoothly in the first half of the year; however, as the global shortage of semiconductor parts has prolonged, an unavoidable shutdown became necessary.
