9 Additional Military COVID-19 Cases Confirmed... Air Force Officers and Army Soldiers Included
[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] The Ministry of National Defense announced on the 17th that 9 additional COVID-19 cases have been confirmed within the military.
According to the Ministry of National Defense, as of 10 a.m. that day, the additional confirmed cases include one Air Force officer in Wonju, Gangwon Province, one Army officer in Cheorwon, and seven Army soldiers in Gangneung, Namyangju, Cheorwon, and Goyang.
The Air Force officer had contact with a civilian confirmed case, and the Army officer showed symptoms after returning from leave but before the cohort (same group) quarantine was lifted.
It has been confirmed that three individuals?the Air Force officer, an Army soldier in Namyangju, and a full-time reservist soldier in Goyang?had completed their second dose of the Pfizer vaccine, making the total number of cases confirmed after completing the recommended number of vaccinations within the military 11 so far.
