Yeosu Gwangyang Port Corporation Hosts National Sea Photography Contest
‘Yesterday and Today of Yeosu and Gwangyang Seas’ Theme
Sharing the Romance and Memories of the Sea with the People
[Gwangyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seonsik] Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Cha Minsik) announced on the 16th that it will hold a national sea photo contest to strengthen communication with the public both online and offline.
The contest, open to anyone with memories of the sea and an interest in marine tourism, will be held under two themes: "The Past and Present of the Yeosu·Gwangyang Sea."
"The Past of the Yeosu·Gwangyang Sea" includes photos capturing the scenery and views of the Yeosu·Gwangyang area sea (islands, beaches, coastlines, piers, etc.) before the 2000s, as well as various development sites and memories from that time.
"The Present of the Yeosu·Gwangyang Sea" focuses on the current marine tourist attractions or sea (islands, beaches, coastlines, piers, etc.) scenery and views, as well as people, with a theme of romance.
Choi Yeoncheol, Vice President (Head of Management Headquarters), said, "Through this contest, we aim to actively promote Yeosu·Gwangyang Port as a marine tourism hub and provide an opportunity to share meaningful memories and romance with the public. We ask for the public's great interest and participation so that it can be a meaningful online travel experience during the daily life constrained by COVID-19."
Those wishing to participate in the contest can submit their application forms and works via email or mail (Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority, 9th floor, Planning and Coordination Office) by August 10.
