To this end, Hanjin held a business agreement the day before at the Hanjin Building in Jung-gu, Seoul, attended by key officials including Hanjin Co., Ltd. CEO Nosamseok, Vice President of Future Growth Strategy and Marketing Cho Hyunmin, and Gongyu Eojang Co., Ltd. CEO Yoo Byungman.
Gongyu Eojang Co., Ltd., which operates the non-face-to-face seafood distribution platform "Pado Sangja" based on the "pre-order, post-fishing" method, advocates social value by providing consumers with freshly caught seafood verified for origin and fishing period, and returning distribution margins to fishermen. If customers complete orders and payments in advance, fishermen set sail within two weeks and ship seafood on the day of fishing.
This business agreement is part of "Hanjin Open Innovation," introduced in July last year to discover new businesses that can create synergy with the logistics and parcel delivery divisions and to expand existing businesses. The strategy is to discover and nurture startups with high growth potential to secure new growth engines.
The two companies will build a fresh seafood delivery platform and promote the demonstration of cold chain technology through the transportation of fresh seafood. They will participate in improving the seafood distribution structure by providing fishermen with a fair trading platform, creating a model for win-win cooperation with local residents.
