Samsung Electronics Enters 2-Week 'Special Quarantine Period'... "Refrain from Using Corporate Cards for Dinner"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] Samsung Electronics has decided to operate a 'Special Quarantine Period' for two weeks until the end of this month in response to the full-scale onset of the 4th wave of COVID-19.
On the afternoon of the 15th, Samsung Electronics announced through the company intranet that it will operate the 'Special Quarantine Period' for all employees from the 16th to the 31st of this month. This measure was taken as the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases exceeded 1,600, mainly in the metropolitan area, and the spread continued.
Samsung Electronics set five key actions to be practiced actively during the Special Quarantine Period. First, employees are urged to strictly follow personal quarantine rules when visiting multi-use facilities, refrain from visiting closed, crowded, and close-contact places, and have a safe vacation. They also emphasized getting tested immediately if there is even the slightest suspicion of infection.
Additionally, private gatherings are to be avoided, after-work meetings or dinners among colleagues are prohibited, and the use of corporate cards after 6 p.m. during the Special Quarantine Period is discouraged.
