Damyang-gun Operates 'Naemame Geurim' Art Therapy Group Counseling Program
Conducted for Elementary and Middle School Students in the District from March to July
[Damyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] The Damyang County Youth Counseling and Welfare Center announced that the art therapy program "The Picture of My Village," which was operated for nine elementary and middle schools in the area since March to support local youth exhausted by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, concluded on the 15th with Geumseong Middle School.
This program, initiated to promote healthy school life and emotional stability for youths who felt anxiety rather than excitement about the March school opening due to COVID-19, provided time to look at oneself and understand others through activities such as drawing self-portraits, making macarons with angel clay, and drawing fish family pictures.
The Youth Counseling and Welfare Center is carrying out various support projects for a safer school environment for local youth, including the visiting youth companion project and school violence prevention education.
Counseling information is provided in real-time through the KakaoTalk channel "Damyang County Youth Counseling and Welfare Center N Kkumdeulim."
