Orion's 'Dr. You Drink' Surpasses 8 Million Bottles in Cumulative Sales Within One Year of Launch
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Orion announced on the 15th that its protein drink 'Dr. You Drink' has established itself in the market by surpassing 8 million bottles in cumulative sales within one year of its launch.
'Dr. You Drink' is Orion's first RTD (Ready-to-Drink) product launched in June last year when the company entered the beverage business, successfully targeting the protein drink market. Noting the significant increase in young people focusing on health management such as 'home training' and 'fitness' due to COVID-19, and their growing interest in protein, Orion attracted consumers' attention by releasing a drinkable protein that can be easily supplemented. It continues its popularity, recording sales in the 1 billion KRW range in June alone.
The beverage market is generally considered a 'red ocean' due to product saturation. However, with the recent increase in consumers paying attention to exercise and self-care, the protein drink market is regarded as a 'blue ocean.' Accordingly, Orion introduced two flavors of Dr. You Drink protein, 'Chocolate' and 'Banana,' followed recently by 'Cafe Latte,' which adds protein to coffee.
