Jangseong-gun Imposes 3.06 Billion Won in Regular Property Tax
[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Yoo Doo-seok) announced on the 15th that it imposed 3.06 billion KRW in regular July property tax (housing and buildings) on about 20,000 cases in 2021.
This amount is about an 11% increase from the 2.75 billion KRW imposed last year, which is attributed to the rise in housing prices due to the government's real estate official price adjustment and the first-time imposition of urban area tax for the Nanosandan area (Jinwon, Nam-myeon) this year.
The regular July property tax is imposed annually on owners of houses, buildings, ships, etc., based on June 1st.
If the housing property tax amount is 200,000 KRW or less, the full amount is imposed this month; if it exceeds 200,000 KRW, half is imposed this month and the other half in September.
This year, unlike last year, a special tax rate is applied only to houses with an official price of 900 million KRW or less for one household with one house, easing the burden on single-house owners.
The payment deadline is until the 2nd of next month, and payment can be conveniently made online via direct visit to financial institutions (banks, post offices, etc.), Wetax, or virtual account transfer (internet banking).
A county official said, "Please make sure to pay within the deadline to avoid a 3% surcharge for late payment."
