[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Cho] The High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Agency (HCIA) has recently decided not to indict in the 'Second Victimization Case of Prosecutor Seo Ji-hyun.'
According to the legal community on the 14th, the HCIA decided on the 1st of last month not to indict former Ministry of Justice Prosecutor General Kwon, who Prosecutor Seo Ji-hyun had accused of dereliction of duty. It is reported that Prosecutor Seo's side is considering filing a re-investigation request in objection to the HCIA's decision.

Previously, Prosecutor Seo claimed that former Prosecutor General Kwon had held a meeting regarding the forced molestation and personnel retaliation involving Prosecutor Seo and former Chief Prosecutor Ahn in 2017 but took no action. In May 2019, Prosecutor Seo filed a complaint with the Seocho Police Station against three prosecution officials, including former Prosecutor General Kwon, for second victimization, and the police transferred former Prosecutor General Kwon to the HCIA in March.
