According to Jangheung-gun on the 14th, the agreement ceremony was attended by Park Ki-seung, head of the Nonghyup Central Association Jangheung-gun branch, Kim Oe-jung, chairman of the Jangheung-gun Cooperative Operation Council and head of Cheongwan Agricultural Cooperative, as well as heads of local livestock cooperatives and regional agricultural cooperatives.
This agreement began as a mutual effort between Jangheung-gun and agricultural cooperatives to overcome the national low birthrate population problem, and it is expected to greatly contribute to creating a birth-friendly social atmosphere in which the local community cooperates and responds proactively.
The birth congratulatory gift will be provided to children of agricultural cooperative members born after July this year, and the target will be expanded to the general public and the amount increased according to the detailed support standards of each local cooperative.
Meanwhile, Jangheung-gun supports childbirth encouragement funds ranging from 3 million won to a maximum of 10 million won upon birth registration, and local agricultural cooperatives will provide the first bankbook opening and birth congratulatory gift upon the newborn family’s visit application, so detailed information can be obtained by contacting each agricultural cooperative.
Jangheung-gun, which was the first nationwide to support newlywed couple marriage encouragement funds, recorded the second highest total fertility rate nationwide in 2020, and as a women-friendly city and child-friendly city certified area where the number of births has increased for three consecutive years, it is discovering and operating new support policies that meet various needs and the trends of the times.
