According to the Central Disease Control Headquarters on the 14th, the number of new COVID-19 cases confirmed in Seoul in one day reached 638, marking an all-time high. This is 55 more than the 583 cases recorded in May.
The number of new cases in Seoul had decreased to around 100 until early April after the third wave but then rose to the 200s and increased to the 300s last month. Since June, the daily average has exceeded 500 cases.
On the 12th, the number of tests conducted also reached a record high of 78,154. It is interpreted that as the Seoul Metropolitan Government actively conducted proactive testing, infections that had been spreading in the community have been increasingly identified.
