[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] A detailed action plan is being established to shape Busan into a green smart city.
Busan City has begun formulating the "2040 Busan Metropolitan City Park and Green Space Master Plan," which presents a long-term vision and policy direction for parks and green spaces.
The Park and Green Space Master Plan is a statutory plan established every 10 years under the "Act on Urban Parks and Green Areas," comprehensively presenting directions for the expansion, management, and use of parks and green spaces in the urban area.
Busan City plans to incorporate the vision of a green smart city into this master plan to create a rational and sustainable park and green space plan where people and nature coexist.
The main contents of the master plan include ▲ a green smart city that makes daily life convenient and happy ▲ creation of neighborhood parks accessible within 15 minutes of daily life ▲ restructuring of parks and green spaces in response to the sunset clause of long-unexecuted urban planning facilities.
The plan is expected to reflect the mid- to long-term development direction of Busan’s parks and green spaces to provide citizens with a comfortable living environment.
To this end, the city will conduct natural environment and status surveys for the total urban planning area of Busan, 993.54㎢, comprehensive arrangement of parks and green spaces, and matters related to the creation, management, conservation, and use of parks and green spaces.
Public hearings and opinions from the Busan City Council will also be gathered and comprehensively analyzed and reflected. In particular, the city plans to actively accept opinions and suggestions from the Park and Green Space Citizen Planning Group to envision Busan’s parks and green spaces for the next 100 years.
