[Golf Topic] Park Chan-ho "Competing in Korean Tour Yamaha & Honors K Open"

On the 13th, KPGA announced, "Park Chan-ho will participate as a recommended player in the Yamaha·Honors K Open (total prize money 500 million KRW) held at Solago Golf Course in Taean, Chungnam on the 22nd." This is his second challenge of the season and his fourth overall, following the Gunsan CC Open in April. In 2018, he teamed up with Kim Young-woong (23) at the Huons Celebrity Pro-Am to win the team championship. In the 2019 Huons Elavie Celebrity Pro-Am, he also paired with Kim Young-woong to finish tied for 33rd place.
According to Article 4, Chapter 2, "Recommended Players per Tournament" of the Korean Tour regulations, the title sponsor may recommend professional or amateur players up to 10% of the total number of participants. Amateur players can participate if they meet at least one of the following criteria: ▲ National military team or higher ▲ Top 5 finish in a nationwide tournament organized by the Korea Golf Association ▲ Certified handicap of 3 or below. Park Chan-ho received a certified handicap of 3 or below from the Korea Golf Association in April.

The Yamaha·Honors K Open uses a modified Stableford scoring system. Points awarded vary according to the score on each hole. An albatross earns 8 points, an eagle 5 points, and a birdie 2 points. Par scores 0 points, bogeys -1 point, and double bogeys or worse -3 points. Although Park Chan-ho was cut off at the Gunsan CC Open, he showcased a long drive of 317.03 yards on the 2nd hole of the second round. Attention is focused on whether he will score many points with aggressive play.
