Gwangjin-gu Hosts 'Youth e-Sports Tournament'
First-come, first-served registration for middle and high school students in the area until July 16... Online preliminary round and YouTube live broadcast on the 31st
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Seon-gap) will hold an online youth e-sports tournament for middle and high school students in the district on the 31st.
This project was prepared to revitalize youth who are exhausted from academic stress and to provide an opportunity for e-sports to be recognized not just as entertainment but as a sports discipline.
The district selected League of Legends (LoL), the most popular game, as the competition event to encourage participation from many youths.
To ensure safe participation despite the COVID-19 situation, both the preliminary rounds (July 24-25) and the finals (July 31) will be held online, and the finals will be broadcast live on YouTube.
The tournament will recruit 32 teams, each consisting of 5 members. Applications are available through the QR code on the promotional poster until the 16th. For more details, refer to the notice board on the Gwangjin-gu Office website or contact the Education Support Division.
