Today (the 11th), the Daejeon Police Agency's Women and Juvenile Investigation Unit announced that they have requested an arrest warrant for a woman in her 20s, identified as A, on charges of abandoning a corpse and violating the Child Welfare Act. A is suspected of placing her deceased daughter's body in an icebox and leaving it inside her residence in Daedeok-gu, Daejeon.
On the 9th, the police received a report of suspected child abuse from another family member of A. Subsequently, the police discovered the victim child's body at A's home and requested an autopsy. According to the National Forensic Service, signs of abuse such as fractures and subcutaneous hemorrhages were found on various parts of the child's body.
