[Damyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] The Shine Muscat course of the 14th Damyang-gun Agricultural College, operated by Damyang-gun, is receiving great responses from participants due to its diverse, field-centered educational program.
According to the county on the 9th, the Agricultural College selects crops annually to provide long-term technical education by item necessary for the specialized development of local agriculture, aiming to cultivate professional agricultural managers equipped with rational farm management and scientific farming practice capabilities.
This year’s crop is grapes, and a Shine Muscat course, which is gaining attention from consumers, has been established. Along with theoretical education by renowned professional instructors nationwide, the program includes field learning at leading farms and site visits to advanced locations, operating an education course of over 100 hours across 8 months.
In particular, during the field learning conducted on the 7th, participants visited leading Shine Muscat farms in Gasamunhak-myeon and Goseo-myeon, focusing on resolving on-site difficulties and providing education centered on cultivation techniques suitable for the timing and various field cases, which received great responses from participants.
Kim Dongun, a leading farmer in Gasamunhak-myeon who has been cultivating grapes for over 30 years, sells grapes under a new composition called ‘Three-color Color Grapes’ by cultivating various varieties that meet consumer demand.
Park Woonsoon, a farmer in Goseo-myeon, has been making efforts such as directly supplying seedlings for Shine Muscat variety renewal for the past 7 years and has consistently served as a mentor for new farmers.
