[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daehyun] Regarding the current prosecutor suspected of receiving money and valuables from Kim Mo (43, currently incarcerated), a 'fake seafood businessman' who exposed giving money to prosecutors, police officers, and journalists, Park Beom-gye, Minister of Justice, said, "We are investigating this as if it were an internal inspection."
On the 9th, Minister Park visited the Busan High Prosecutors' Office during an on-site policy visit and told reporters, "We plan to devise countermeasures through a diagnostic investigation."
Regarding this case, Minister Park stated, "It seems to be a special phenomenon, but if by any chance such organizational culture still remains, I think we need to devise countermeasures through a diagnostic investigation," adding, "In that regard, I ordered an investigation equivalent to an internal inspection."
The day before, Minister Park explained the goal of the inspection to reporters as he arrived at the Ministry of Justice Government Gwacheon Complex, saying, "(The sponsor culture within the prosecution) may still not have disappeared, so it is necessary to look into it from that perspective."
Regarding the approval of the organizational reform plan to revive the special investigation function of the Busan District Prosecutors' Office, he said, "Busan is the second largest city in our country, and I thought there was such a demand," adding, "Also, the Prosecutor General kept proposing it."
