On the 8th, emergency restoration work began after visiting the damage sites.
According to Jangheung County on the 9th, the record-breaking heavy rain from the 5th to the 7th caused damage including house flooding, landslides, road damage, and livestock barn flooding, resulting in the death of 65,000 chickens and ducks.
In response, the county organized about 210 public officials from the main office to focus on restoration work at flood-damaged sites in three southern towns and townships, centered on Daedeok-eup, which suffered severe damage.
Additionally, due to a shortage of personnel for damage investigation in the towns and townships, there were concerns about delays in damage assessment. Therefore, main office employees will directly visit the sites through a ‘field administration’ initiative to promptly assess damage and focus on restoration.
