Police Book Gangnam Station Officer for Assaulting Pedestrian While Intoxicated
[Asia Economy Reporters Yoo Byung-don, Lee Jung-yoon] A senior officer belonging to the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul was booked for causing a disturbance, including assaulting a pedestrian while intoxicated.
According to the police on the 9th, the Gwanak Police Station in Seoul has booked and is investigating Officer A on charges of assault and other offenses.
Officer A is accused of following a woman and speaking to her in an alley in Sillim-dong, Gwanak-gu, around 11 p.m. on the 6th, and assaulting a pedestrian who tried to stop him at the frightened woman's request by slapping the pedestrian's cheek. It is also reported that Officer A assaulted a police officer at the police substation where he was taken.
