Brain Hemorrhage Patient Lee Oisoo Recovers Consciousness... Utters the Word 'Interest'
"This Spring, Consciousness Returns and Shows the Will to Survive"
Last March, novelist Lee Oisoo collapsed due to a cerebral hemorrhage, and his current condition was shared through social media (SNS).
Lee's eldest son, Han-eol, posted three photos on his father's Facebook page on the 8th, updating on his father's battle with illness. He wrote, "My father, whose condition was so bad that even his son couldn't recognize him until winter, has gradually regained consciousness since this spring and is showing a will to live." He added, "After more than a year bedridden, his muscle strength has weakened, so he has started rehabilitation. For an elderly person receiving only basic nutrients through a liquid diet, this is no easy task."
Lee is maintaining a nasal tube due to dysphagia. He also has a tracheal tube for phlegm removal, making proper conversation impossible. Han-eol wrote, "Yesterday, my father wiped away tears and struggled to utter the word 'interest'." He continued, "Because visits are prohibited due to COVID-19, it pains me that he seems unable to feel that many people are waiting for and loving him." He also said, "I will convey all the comments left to my father. I sincerely thank everyone who is waiting for news of my father and praying for his health."
