Gyeongbuk Provincial Council Discusses Training Smart Marine and Fisheries Workforce
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jucheol In] The Smart Marine Fisheries Policy Research Group, a research group of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Council, held the final report meeting for the "Research Service on Human Resource Development for Smart Marine Fisheries in Gyeongsangbuk-do" on the 7th at the meeting room of the Gyeongbuk Province East Sea Regional Headquarters.
This research service, led by Researcher Sena Kim of the Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute, who took charge of the research, started in September last year and is scheduled to be completed by July. It aims to establish a basic plan to cultivate new specialized personnel by converging and combining 4th industrial technologies in Gyeongbuk's marine fisheries sector.
At the report meeting, Researcher Kim presented directions for human resource development necessary for the smartification of the marine fisheries industry based on overseas cases, as well as support measures for nurturing talent through formal courses and lifelong education.
He also emphasized the necessity of linking the basic plan for the creation of the East Sea Smart Fisheries Equipment Specialized Industrial Complex with the Gyeongsangbuk-do Smart Aquaculture Cluster project.

Lee Chil-gu, the head of the research group, stated, "Education support that can reduce labor intensity and promote youth inflow by utilizing 4th industrial revolution technologies is necessary," and urged the research team to do their best to derive practical measures for cultivating new specialized personnel who can lead Gyeongbuk's fisheries industry.
