Gwangju Dong-gu, Chungjang-ro 4~5ga 'Vacant House Youth Startup' Support Project Additional Recruitment
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Im Taek) announced on the 6th that it will additionally recruit young entrepreneurs to participate in the ‘Vacant House Youth Startup Filling Project’ in Chungjang-ro 4~5-ga.
Dong-gu is conducting this project to support youth startups that can coexist with the community by utilizing idle spaces such as vacant houses and empty stores in the Chungjang-ro 4~5-ga area.
Following the recruitment of five youth startup teams and signing of agreements in May, this time they aim to maximize the effectiveness of the project by recruiting an additional five local youth teams who will continue their dreams and challenges.
Applicants must be (preliminary) young entrepreneurs aged 39 or younger residing in Dong-gu, and the application period is until the 12th of this month.
Selected applicants will receive up to 13.75 million KRW in support, including 5 million KRW for remodeling costs, rent, material costs, and product development expenses.
Additionally, until the end of December, they will receive various support such as ▲wage guarantees through work experience ▲consulting and various job training ▲capacity-building education.
Youth wishing to participate can refer to the Dong-gu website, complete the application form and required documents, and submit them via email or visit the Youth and Sports Division of Dong-gu Office in person.
Mayor Im Taek of Dong-gu said, “We hope many young people with passion and dreams will apply for this program that connects and supports local resources and youth dreams,” adding, “Providing opportunities for youth and fostering settlement in the community will allow both youth and the community to grow together.”

Meanwhile, the 28 young people selected through the youth intern support project recruitment in April and May are participating in work experience and aptitude discovery projects linked to local job demand.
