[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dobong-gu (Mayor Dongjin Lee) will issue 'Dobong Love Gift Certificates' worth 11.6 billion KRW at noon on the 12th.
'Dobong Love Gift Certificates' are mobile local gift certificates issued to boost sales of small business owners struggling due to COVID-19 and to revitalize the local economy.
Consumers can purchase them at a 10% discount up to 700,000 KRW per month and receive a 30% income deduction benefit when used. However, individuals can hold up to 2 million KRW, and the validity period is three years.
The gift certificates can be purchased through 20 mobile applications (Beeple Zero Pay, Check Pay, Money Tree, Fint, Payco, T-money Pay, Zero Pay, On, 010 Zero Pay, Ubi Pay, Fink, Syrup Wallet, Woori WON Banking, Shinhan SOL, Nonghyup All One Bank, Busan Bank, Daegu Bank, Gyeongnam Bank, Jeonbuk Bank, Gwangju Bank, Kok Bank).
Purchased gift certificates can be used at Zero Pay affiliated stores located in Dobong-gu such as restaurants, convenience stores, and academies. However, in line with the purpose of revitalizing the local economy and increasing small business sales, they cannot be used at some affiliated stores such as large and semi-large stores, gambling-related businesses, and franchise directly managed stores.
In particular, from June 1st this year, the use of gift certificates at Nonghyup Hanaro Mart Changdong branch has been restricted to protect the local shopping district.
Dobong-gu issued a total of 13 billion KRW of Dobong Love Gift Certificates in five rounds last year. This year, the scale has been expanded to 26.6 billion KRW, with 15 billion KRW issued and fully sold in February during the first half of the year, and the remaining 11.6 billion KRW to be issued in the second half.
