'Guro Sarang Gift Certificates' Issued Worth 11 Billion Won
From 12 PM on the 12th, sales through 20 apps including Beeple Zero Pay and Payco... 10% discount and 30% income deduction benefits... Usable at 11,180 locations within the region
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Guro-gu (Mayor Lee Seong) will issue an additional 11 billion KRW worth of ‘Guro Love Gift Certificates’ on the 12th.
Guro-gu announced on the 6th, “We will additionally sell the local currency ‘Guro Love Gift Certificates’ to increase residents’ spending power and revitalize the local economy.”
This additional issuance is the second issuance following the early sell-out of the 18 billion KRW worth of Guro Love Gift Certificates released in February.
The ‘Guro Love Gift Certificates,’ a mobile gift certificate linked to Zero Pay, are issued in three denominations: 10,000 KRW, 50,000 KRW, and 100,000 KRW. They can be used via mobile payment at 11,180 Zero Pay affiliated stores within the region, excluding large supermarkets and department stores.
This issuance applies a 10% discount rate, and the purchase limit is 700,000 KRW per person (holding limit of 2 million KRW). For example, when purchasing 700,000 KRW worth of gift certificates, only 630,000 KRW in cash needs to be paid.
An additional 30% income deduction benefit is also provided upon payment. The usage period is five years from the date of issuance.
Purchases can be made from 12 PM through 20 mobile applications including Beeple Zero Pay, Check Pay, Money Tree, Fint, Payco, Fink, T-money Pay, Zero Pay On, 010 Zero Pay, Ubi Pay, Shinhan SOL, Nonghyup, Busan Bank, Daegu Bank, Gyeongnam Bank, Jeonbuk Bank, Gwangju Bank, Woori Bank, Syrup Wallet, and Nonghyup Mutual Finance Kok Bank.
The Guro Love Gift Certificates were issued in a total amount of 31.5 billion KRW: 5 billion KRW in April last year, 5 billion KRW in July, 3.5 billion KRW in September, and 18 billion KRW this February, all of which were sold out early.
