Gwangju Nam-gu Selects 3 Exemplary Public Officials Leading by Example

The three selected exemplary public officials are Administrative Officer Ahn Changjeong from the Accounting Division, Administrative Officer Jang Gilhwan from the Cleaning Administration Division, and Administrative Officer Lee Seungyeop working at the Yangnim-dong Administrative Welfare Center.
Ahn Changjeong, responsible for construction contract tasks, contributed to budget savings by conducting meticulous reviews while handling hundreds of tasks including detailed design services, private contracts, procurement purchases, and bidding. He also provided equal opportunities for local companies to participate in projects, facilitating smooth progress of various projects.
He has earned strong trust by handling tasks fairly and transparently according to relevant laws and principles and acting as an advisor to employees facing difficulties with contract work.
Administrative Officer Jang Gilhwan, in charge of recycling-related tasks, has taken the lead in smoothly managing resource circulation and waste disposal, contributing to environmental preservation and creating a pleasant environment.
In particular, he was recognized for installing the first unmanned large waste reception machine among local governments in Gwangju and Jeonnam, allowing residents to freely dispose of waste on weekends, holidays, and at night. He also improved the recovery rate of recyclable resources through systematic management from collection to processing of recyclable waste.
Administrative Officer Lee Seungyeop, praised by residents of Yangnim-dong, was selected as an exemplary public official for his dedicated work attitude and strong sense of duty.
He promoted various village development projects with local residents, such as creating the 3.1 Manse Movement birthplace street, establishing a village with the unique characteristics of Yangnim-dong, and took charge of supporting COVID-19 vaccinations for seniors aged 75 and older, working enthusiastically on weekdays and weekends.
