[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Choyoung] Yoo Seung-min, a former lawmaker and presidential candidate of the People Power Party, said on the 4th, "We must completely abandon the stubbornness of trying to unify opposition candidates in a way that is advantageous to us by only involving those within the party."
At the 'Hope 22 Donghaeng Forum Pohang Founding General Assembly' held at the Pohang Culture and Arts Center that day, Yoo said, "We need to bring in those outside the party, have everyone come up on stage, and hold a dramatic primary election to select one among them."
He added, "We should not be misunderstood as having unfair primary rules that favor only those inside the party at the expense of those outside," and "I believe those who make the rules will approach this with a completely open mind."
Regarding former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl's potential entry into the People Power Party, he said, "The final decision is up to him," emphasizing, "We just need to keep the door open for him to join anytime and prepare the primary rules so that they are absolutely not disadvantageous to him."

He also criticized Yoon's earlier emphasis on 'liberal democracy' and 'free market economy' in his declaration of candidacy, saying, "Freedom is an extremely precious value, but I want to ask if people are satisfied with having only the value of freedom in life," and pointed out, "If you talk as if freedom is the highest value on earth, you will only be half-recognized by the people."
