Iraqi Chef Falls in Kitchen... Dies After Falling into Boiling Soup Pot
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Sumi] In Iraq, a chef tragically died after falling into a large pot while cooking soup, suffering severe burns all over his body.
According to foreign media on the 1st (local time), Isa Ismail (25), an 8-year veteran chef, slipped and fell into the pot on the 15th of last month while preparing food for a wedding. The pot contained hot chicken soup that had been boiling vigorously just moments before. The pot is said to be large enough for an adult to fall into.
Ismail was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment but passed away five days later. He reportedly suffered third-degree burns on 70% of his body.
Ismail, a father of three, had been working at the wedding hall for two years to support his family. According to his relatives, his daily wage was 25,000 dinars, approximately 19,300 Korean won.
