Seeking Jobs in the Environmental Sector... Seoul City Recruiting Participants for the Mid-to-Senior Environmental Company Internship Program
Around 30 People Aged 50+ to Participate in Environmentally Friendly Companies, Institutions, and Organizations in Resource Circulation and Ecological Education
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul 50 Plus Foundation announced that it will launch the ‘Environmental Enterprise Internship’ program, allowing the 50+ generation to explore sustainable work and activities in the environmental sector, which is considered a promising future industry, and will begin recruiting participants from the 5th.
This program was established to provide an environment where the 50+ generation can enter new job fields by utilizing their capabilities, as demand for green jobs is expected to increase based on green technology due to changes in government policies such as the ‘Green New Deal’ and industrial environment. In July last year, the government announced the ‘Korean New Deal Comprehensive Plan’ as a national development strategy to overcome the COVID-19 crisis and respond to changes in the economic and social structure, jointly with related central ministries.
Participants in the ‘Environmental Enterprise Internship’ will be responsible for tasks such as education planning, campaign activities, field management, and management and accounting support at environmental institutions, companies, and organizations located in Seoul.
They will engage in business operation support tasks such as campaign activities, education planning, and field management at institutions and organizations responsible for urban environmental education, smart mobility, and resource circulation, as well as business support tasks in specialized areas such as office work, management, and accounting.
Those in the 50+ generation who wish to apply for the ‘Environmental Enterprise Internship’ can find detailed recruitment information on the 50+ Portal. Any Seoul citizen aged between 45 and 67 with experience or interest in the environmental field can apply. Applications will be accepted online from the 5th to the 15th, and about 30 people will be selected through document screening and interviews.
The final selected candidates will undergo common and job-specific training courses and will be active for a total of three months from August to October. An activity allowance of 10,702 KRW per hour will be provided.
