The Korea Meteorological Administration forecasted on the 2nd that due to a low-pressure system developing along the stationary front, rain will start from Jeju Island in the early morning of the next day, spreading to the Chungcheong and Jeolla regions, and the western inland areas of Gyeongsang in the morning, then expanding nationwide by the afternoon. As warm, moist air associated with the low-pressure system flows in near the stationary front, heavy rainfall exceeding 150mm is expected until the 4th, mainly in the central regions, Jeolla region, southern coast of Gyeongnam, around Jirisan Mountain, and Jeju Island.
In particular, the rain cloud band will strengthen as it meets cold and dry air, bringing very heavy rain exceeding 40mm per hour accompanied by thunder, lightning, and gusty winds. This will occur along the west coast from late afternoon on the 3rd to early morning the next day; in the southern metropolitan area, central and southern inland Gangwon, inland Chungcheong, western inland Jeonbuk, northern inland Gyeongbuk, southern Jeonnam, and western Gyeongnam from night on the 3rd to early morning the next day; and in eastern Gangwon, eastern coastal Gyeongbuk, and eastern Gyeongnam from early morning on the 3rd to morning on the 4th.
The expected rainfall on the 3rd and 4th is 50 to 100mm (with some areas exceeding 150mm) in the central regions, Jeolla region, coastal Gyeongnam, around Jirisan Mountain, and Jeju Island, and 30 to 80mm in other parts of the country. The rain is expected to stop in most areas except Jeju Island on the 4th. Due to the influence of the rain cloud band, temperatures over the weekend and holiday will be 2 to 5 degrees lower than on the 2nd. The lowest temperatures on the morning of the 3rd are expected to be 18 to 23 degrees Celsius, with daytime highs of 22 to 27 degrees. On the 4th, the morning lows are expected to be 19 to 24 degrees, and daytime highs 24 to 31 degrees.

From the afternoon of the 3rd to the 4th, winds along the west coast, coastal Gyeongnam, and Jeju Island will be very strong, with average speeds of 35 to 65 km/h and maximum gusts exceeding 70 km/h. Other regions may also experience strong winds with maximum gusts exceeding 55 km/h.
