Gyeongnam Province Reports 6 Additional COVID-19 Cases... Including Acquaintance Gatherings (Comprehensive)
On the 2nd, the number of new COVID-19 cases recorded was in the low 800s. This is the highest number in about 170 days since January 7. Citizens are lining up to get tested at a temporary COVID-19 screening clinic set up at Seoul Station Plaza.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] As of 1:30 PM on the 2nd, Gyeongsangnam-do announced that 6 new confirmed cases occurred since 5 PM the previous day.
By region, there are 2 cases in Namhae, and 1 case each in Changwon, Jinju, Gimhae, and Yangsan.
The 2 confirmed cases in Namhae were both contacts related to acquaintances in Namhae and Jinju, who tested positive while in quarantine and were classified as cases 5226 and 5227. The number of confirmed cases related to acquaintances in Namhae and Jinju has increased to 36.
The 1 confirmed case in Changwon was a contact of a confirmed case from the metropolitan area and was classified as case 5228 after testing positive.
The 1 confirmed case in Jinju and the 1 confirmed case in Gimhae were tested due to symptom onset and were classified as cases 5231 and 5229, respectively, after testing positive.
The 1 confirmed case in Yangsan was an overseas entrant who tested positive and was classified as case 5230.
