At the launch ceremony, Dongwon Industries expressed a strong commitment to promoting safety-centered management that prioritizes safety as the top value to achieve 'zero major accidents through the establishment of an autonomous bottom-up safety culture.' Bottom-up refers to a decision-making process carried out through the voluntary participation of employees rather than directives from management.
Dongwon Industries has been managing safety through various organizations such as the existing Compliance Committee and Safety Assurance Team, and through this Integrated Safety and Disaster TF, it plans to undertake management that comprehensively covers not only safety and disaster management and legal compliance but also the areas of human rights, environment, and quality.
The Integrated Safety and Disaster TF is led by Executive Director Choi Geum-bae (CEO of Dongwon Loex Refrigeration) and consists of a total of 11 members, including safety management officers from various fields such as marine fisheries, distribution, and refrigerated logistics.
The Integrated Safety and Disaster TF will be responsible for integrated safety management across all Dongwon Industries workplaces and activities to prevent accidents. To this end, it plans to implement activities such as compliance with relevant laws including the Industrial Safety and Health Act, leading the implementation of health policies, creating a safety and health responsible management environment to prevent major accidents, improving cooperative structures for industrial accident prevention, adhering to basic safety principles and guidelines, and strengthening field-centered safety and health activities.
