Organizational Restructuring Focused on Functions and Demand to Enhance Residents' Safety Perception
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] The Gyeongsangnam-do Fire Headquarters will implement a reorganization of the fire department's organizational structure starting from the 1st to improve fire service operations.
As a result, it is expected that the residents' perception of safety will significantly improve.
First, a Fire Budget and Equipment Division will be newly established within the Fire Headquarters to ensure stable securing of fire finances and systematically manage fire stations and special equipment.
The Fire Budget and Equipment Division will operate fire finances in accordance with the 'Fire Financial Support and Establishment of Special Fire Accounts for Cities and Provinces Act.'
It will integrate the management and operation of fire vehicles and various special equipment, such as the unmanned demolition water truck recently introduced at the Gimhae Western Fire Station.
Additionally, a Rescue and Emergency Medical Services Division will be newly established at the Jinju and Gimhae Eastern Fire Stations to handle responses to new infectious diseases such as COVID-19.
At 18 fire stations, fire suppression, rescue, emergency medical personnel, and on-site safety inspectors will be recruited and deployed to strengthen disaster response capabilities.
