CU is the first in the franchise industry to open a welfare mall exclusively for staff.
View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] CU announced on the 1st that it will open the franchise industry's first staff-only welfare mall to provide differentiated welfare benefits to part-time workers (staff).
Since 2015, CU has been operating the CU Mall for franchise owners in partnership with SK M&S's welfare platform Benefia, offering a variety of practical benefits. The newly opened staff-only welfare mall uses the same platform currently used by franchise owners and employees.
This welfare mall offers staff-exclusive mutual growth benefits comparable to those provided to CU franchise owners, including online lowest price product sales, condo and resort reservations, medical services, and rental car discounts. In particular, staff can receive up to a 500,000 KRW discount on health checkup items at over 100 locations nationwide and use comprehensive health checkups. Vision correction surgeries such as LASIK and LASEK are also available at partner ophthalmology clinics at about half the regular price.
The communication channel between headquarters and staff will also be expanded to quickly and accurately deliver information to staff working at all stores nationwide. Last year, CU signed a contract with WeSop, which provides the integrated labor management solution ShopSol, and developed the one-stop labor management app ‘Toegeunhae CU’. Thanks to its convenience in handling everything from labor contract creation to payroll calculation easily and clearly, more than 30,000 staff members are currently using the app. Through this app, CU plans to regularly provide frequently sought work manuals, events, and promotions to staff and listen to their suggestions to reflect them in work improvements.
CU operates various welfare programs. The ‘CU ACE’ system, which selects and awards outstanding staff semiannually, motivates work enthusiasm. Additionally, staff who are university graduates or expected to graduate (including those already graduated) are selected as Marketers and receive exemption from document screening when applying for employment at BGF Retail.
