Hampyeong-gun Holds Ceremony to Declare 'Zero Traditional Toilets in Hampyeong'
[Hampyeong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 30th that it held a proclamation ceremony to announce the results of the ‘Zero Traditional Toilets in Hampyeong’ project, promoted together with the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation (Jeonnam Regional Headquarters Director Park Subong) to guarantee the minimum housing rights for children.
Starting with a full survey in February of about 3,800 households with children under 18 years old in the district, this project was finally completed with the renovation of the tenth target household’s toilet, which was completed on the 25th of this month.
The proclamation ceremony was held at a target child’s home in Wolya-myeon, Hampyeong-gun, attended by about 10 people including Lee Sang-ik, the mayor of Hampyeong-gun, Kim Jaechun, director of the Jeonnam Child Advocacy Center, and other officials and sponsors.
The attendees toured the home of the target child, which was improved from a traditional toilet to a flush toilet, and presented sharing plaques to four donors who greatly helped promote the project.
In particular, Park Chanwook, CEO of Seongjae General Construction Co., Ltd., which participated as the construction company in this project, added significance by donating a washing machine and refrigerator (worth about 1.42 million KRW) after seeing the poor housing environment, practicing love for the community and neighbors.
