Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority Continues Sustainable Win-Win Cooperation with Subsidiaries
2021 Win-Win Cooperation Council Meeting Held... Joint Training and Social Contribution Activities Promoted
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Cha Min-sik) announced on the 29th that it held the 2021 Win-Win Cooperation Council with its investee company Yeosu Gwangyang Port Management Co., Ltd. (President Kim Jae-woo) at the World Marine Center 14th floor conference room on the 29th.
The authority has been holding the Win-Win Cooperation Council annually since signing a "Business Agreement for Win-Win Cooperation and Joint Interest Promotion" with its subsidiary in 2019.
The Win-Win Cooperation Council consists of a total of 10 members, including 5 representatives from the authority, including worker representatives, and 5 members from the subsidiary. It serves as an official communication channel to discuss and improve matters related to fostering a cooperative relationship between the authority and the subsidiary, improving labor conditions and work environment, and promoting joint interests.
At the council meeting, the subsidiary proposed agenda items such as △ installation and operation of stand-type fever check devices to improve the efficiency of pier access work, and the authority proposed agenda items including △ promotion of joint win-win cooperation activities between the parent and subsidiary companies, △ joint training between the parent and subsidiary companies, and △ operation of a mutual respect day.
Kim Seon-jong, Vice President (Head of Operations Headquarters), who attended the council, said, "This council was held to review the current status of win-win cooperation between the subsidiary and the authority and to seek a more progressive direction for the future," adding, "We plan to actively support the subsidiary to grow into a port management specialized company loved and respected by the public and to contribute to creating a safe and convenient Yeosu and Gwangyang Port."
Meanwhile, in December 2017, in accordance with the government's policy to convert non-regular workers to regular workers, the authority established its subsidiary Yeosu Gwangyang Port Management Co., Ltd. and converted a total of 157 workers in port special security, general security, facility management, sanitation, and information system operation?who had been contract workers?into regular employees of the subsidiary.
