Musical 'Saranghaesseoyo' Opens in August... Cast Includes Jo Jang-hyeok, Go Yoo-jin, Seven, and More
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dong-hyun] The jukebox musical "Saranghaesseoyo," featuring the timeless hits of singer Kim Hyun-sik (1958?1990), will open on August 14 at the BBCH Hall of the Gwanglim Art Center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
First premiered in 2019, "Saranghaesseoyo" portrays a heartbreaking love story between two people who love each other but exist in different spaces, exploring various forms of love that remain unchanged over time, including romantic love, family affection, and friendship.
This performance will present Kim Hyun-sik's classic songs such as "Saranghaesseoyo," "Like the Rain, Like the Music," and the newly added "Nae Sarang Nae Gyeote" ("My Love By My Side"), adapted with a modern sensibility through collaboration between the scriptwriters and creative team to deliver a moving experience.
The role of Lee Jun-hyuk, a solitary singer-songwriter and a successful singer in his late 50s, will be played by Jo Jang-hyuk, Jung Se-hoon, and Sung Ki-yoon. The younger version of Jun-hyuk, "Past Lee Jun-hyuk," is cast with Go Yoo-jin, Hong Kyung-in, and Kim Yong-jin.
Jun-hyuk's younger brother, Yoon Ki-cheol, a business student who loves music and stakes everything in life for love, will be portrayed by Seven, Kang Seung-sik (VICTON), Park Jung-hyuk, and Seon-yul (UP10TION).
The role of Kim Eun-joo will be performed by Shin Go-eun, Park Gyuri, and Lim Na-young. Park Gyuri, formerly of the girl group KARA, returns to the musical stage after 10 years, while Lim Na-young, leader of the group I.O.I, makes her musical debut in this production.

Jun-hyuk's manager, Ahn Ho-jun, will be played by Wi Yang-ho and Go Hye-sung, and Choi Mi-ae, who runs a boarding house and caf? in Vienna and later becomes Jun-hyuk's coordinator, will be portrayed by Sung Eun, Kim Mi-ryeo, and Kim Na-hee.
