Namwon-si to Distribute 'Jeonbuk-do Disaster Relief Fund' Starting from the 5th of Next Month
[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Young-kwon] Jeonbuk Namwon City (Mayor Lee Hwan-joo) announced on the 29th that it has confirmed 80,434 eligible recipients for the Jeonbuk Province Emergency Disaster Relief Fund and will distribute it via Nonghyup prepaid cards starting from the 5th of next month.
The Jeonbuk Province Emergency Disaster Relief Fund, which provides 100,000 KRW per person to all residents of the province, targets those registered as residents in the city as of the 21st, including marriage immigrants and permanent residents who have registered their place of stay.
Considering that the disaster relief fund distribution period is in the summer of next month, the city is preparing meticulously to minimize waiting times by additionally supporting equipment such as computers and printers in the eup, myeon, and dong offices, simplifying the payment procedures, and supporting administrative personnel in these local offices to ensure no inconvenience to citizens.
Furthermore, to overcome COVID-19, the city advanced the government disaster relief fund payment by two weeks ahead of the government plan in May last year, and in September of the same year, distributed the Namwon-type disaster relief fund through Namwon Love Gift Certificates (with a distribution rate of 96.8%).
The city plans to provide this disaster relief fund promptly to help stabilize citizens' livelihoods.
The application method is primarily a collective application by the head of the household, but household members or direct lineal relatives can apply at the eup, myeon, or dong administrative welfare centers at their registered address as of the 21st with the head of household’s authorization.
The prepaid card must be used within Namwon City by September 30th, and usage is restricted in certain sectors such as large supermarkets and entertainment establishments.
Citizens who wish to donate can fill out a donation application form and donate the full amount or the remaining balance. The donations will be supported for vulnerable groups within Namwon through a business agreement with the Jeollabuk-do Community Chest of Korea.
