Entering the ‘Franchise’ Market with Fish Cake... Samjin Food Accelerates Nationwide Expansion of ‘Samjin Eomukdang’ Franchise
Eomuk Croquette & Premium Snack Brand Launches Franchise Business Starting July
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Capture the domestic franchise market with fish cake!
Samjin Food (CEO Hwang Chang-hwan) has officially entered the nationwide franchise business by promoting its franchise brand ‘Samjin Eomukdang’ and others.
Samjin Food operates the franchise brand ‘Samjin Eomukdang,’ launched last May, and the directly managed fish cake bakery brand ‘Samjin Eomuk.’
‘Samjin Eomuk’ started in 1953 at Bongnae Market in Yeongdo-gu, Busan, and has continued fish cake manufacturing for three generations. It opened the first bakery-style fish cake store in Korea, gaining great popularity.
‘Samjin Eomuk’ dispelled the perception that fish cake is unhygienic by introducing the fish cake bakery. It launched a snack-type fish cake called ‘Eomuk Croquette,’ leading consumer trends with premium fish cake. Currently, it continues various promotional activities under the brand value of ‘Creating the culture of fish cake.’
‘Samjin Eomukdang’ was launched as a fish cake croquette & premium snack brand specializing in dishes using ‘premium fish cake’ and ‘bunsik’ to realize the fish cake cuisine culture of ‘Samjin Eomuk.’
The first Samjin Eomukdang store is located in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam, Seoul, an area with high foot traffic and diverse consumers. Since opening, it has solidified its foundation by welcoming up to about 360 visitors per day.
Samjin Eomukdang has established ‘healthy ingredients,’ ‘healthy texture,’ and ‘healthy taste’ as its core values.
Samjin Eomukdang’s signature menu consists of four items: fish cake pasta tteokbokki, Bolognese tteokbokki, spicy rose tteokbokki, and fish cake croquette.
Franchise consultations for Samjin Eomukdang have been underway since the 1st of this month. Starting with ‘IFS Franchise Seoul’ held at COEX from July 1 to 3, recruitment of franchisees for full-scale expansion will begin.
‘IFS Franchise Seoul’ is the largest startup expo in Korea covering the entire process of franchise entrepreneurship. ‘Samjin Eomukdang’ will participate in the event to provide information and conduct startup consultations for prospective franchisees.
For entrepreneurs unable to attend the expo, startup briefing sessions will be held on July 5 and 10 at the Samjin Eomukdang training room.
Reservations for the Samjin Eomukdang startup briefing sessions can be made in advance through the official Samjin Eomukdang website.
Samjin Eomukdang also plans an event offering a franchise fee waiver of 10 million KRW to the first 10 franchise contracts on a first-come, first-served basis.
Yoon Kyung-geun, head of the franchise business division at Samjin Food, said, “We will prioritize preserving franchisee profits and do our best to establish ourselves as Korea’s representative premium bunsik brand based on win-win management.”
Samjin Food has recently been leading the fish cake market by consecutively launching ‘low-sodium fish cake’ and ‘frozen convenience foods.’
