KT Y Launches Zero Waste Season 2 in Collaboration with Overlap
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] KT's brand for the MZ generation, 'Y', announced on the 29th that it will launch 'Zero Waste Goods' upcycled from leisure sports equipment. This product was created in collaboration with 'Overlap', which upcycles paragliders (parachutes).
The Zero Waste Goods consist of 'Parasol' (folding umbrella, compact umbrella) essential for the rainy season, 'Paraponcho' (poncho raincoat), and 'Paracap' (hat) that blocks intense sunlight. Unlike Overlap's existing upcycling method, the Zero Waste Goods utilize scraps generated during the production process of paragliding, which has significantly increased due to the rise in outdoor activities amid COVID-19.
The Paracap sold at KT Shop is priced at 27,000 KRW (including VAT). Using KT Membership points allows purchase at a discounted price of 24,300 KRW. Additionally, to enable a wider range of customers beyond KT users to purchase, the Parasol is sold through 'Wadiz' funding at 12,500 KRW for the compact umbrella and 14,500 KRW for the folding umbrella, while the Paraponcho is sold at 33,600 KRW.
The Zero Waste Goods are exhibited in pop-up stores at KT's flagship locations including KT Square, Garosugil branch, and Sungkyunkwan Media branch, where customers can experience and purchase them directly. Information about these stores can be found on the KT website under 'Store Locator'. Detailed introductions to the collaborating brands and goods are available on KT's MZ brand 'Y' through the 'Y Box' app and website.
