Prosecutors' Personnel Aftermath... Na Byung-hoon, Chief of Central 1st Division, Resigns Amid 'Blue House Planned Inspection Allegations'
[Asia Economy Reporter Baek Kyunghwan] Na Byung-hoon, the first deputy chief prosecutor of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, who was in the command line of the 'Cheongwadae Planned Investigation Allegation' case, has expressed his intention to resign.
On the 28th, Deputy Chief Na posted on the internal prosecution network, stating, "I think it is now time to leave the prosecution, which I have grown attached to, and take a new path."
Deputy Chief Na, who was appointed as the successor to former Deputy Chief Kim Wook-joon, who resigned during the disciplinary incident involving former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol in the mid-level personnel reshuffle in February, was assigned as a prosecutor at the Suwon High Prosecutors' Office in the personnel reshuffle on the 25th. The legal community evaluated this as a demotion after only four months.
Deputy Chief Na was in the command line of the investigation into the 'planned investigation' allegation originating from Cheongwadae regarding former Vice Minister Kim Hak-ui, which is being investigated by the Criminal Division 1 of the Central District Prosecutors' Office, as well as the 'Channel A case' involving Prosecutor General Han Dong-hoon.
Lee Joon-sik, head of the Bucheon branch office, who was assigned as a prosecutor at the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office in this personnel reshuffle, also expressed his intention to resign on the internal network. In his post, Director Lee said, "I am sorry to leave first during difficult times, but I believe our organization will overcome the difficulties as it always has."
