[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Changwon City in Gyeongnam announced on the 28th that students from Gyeongnam Electronics High School delivered a petition for the establishment of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) and homemade cookies over the course of a week.
Since Gyeongnam Electronics High School was selected as an 'Art Flower Seed School' in 2021, the students have developed a strong interest in culture and the arts. As a result, they launched a petition campaign to attract the MMCA Changwon branch.
The petition campaign was held from the 18th to the 24th.
Six students from Gyeongnam Electronics High School handed out snacks they made themselves to citizens and collected 408 signatures.
Shin Boeun, the teacher in charge of the Art Flower Seed School, said, "Many citizens responded to the students' requests, but some just passed by. It was a valuable experience for the students to learn how to handle rejection, and I was moved to see them gain confidence and actively participate."
