[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 28th that it held the opening ceremony and opening match of the 2021 Hapcheon ‘All-Time Prodigies vs Female Champions’ Winning Streak Competition at the Blue House set.
The opening ceremony was attended by County Governor Moon Jun-hee, County Council Chairman Bae Mong-hee, Sports Association President Kim Hae-eun, Baduk Association President Kim Yoon-gon, Korea Baduk Association Secretary General Yang Jae-ho, KB League Suryoan Hapcheon Team Coach Go Geun-tae, and members of the Baduk Association to celebrate the tournament's opening.
In the opening match held that day, Female Champions Team’s 3-dan Jo Seung-ah secured the team’s first victory by winning by half a point with black against the youngest member of the All-Time Prodigies Team, 3-dan Lee Yeon.
The winning streak competition is a 5-player team survival winning streak match, with games 2 through 9 held every Monday and Tuesday at 1 PM from June 29 to July 28 at the Baduk TV studio.
Hosted by Hapcheon-gun and organized by the Korea Baduk Association, and sponsored by the Hapcheon County Council, Hapcheon Sports Association, and Hapcheon Baduk Association, the 2021 Hapcheon ‘All-Time Prodigies vs Female Champions’ Winning Streak Competition offers a first prize of 20 million KRW and a runner-up prize of 5 million KRW. The time limit is 1 hour per player with three 40-second byo-yomi periods.

In his opening remarks, Governor Moon said, “I consider it meaningful that players who have reached the pinnacle of prodigies and female players representing Korea are competing in Hapcheon,” adding, “We will continue to strive to contribute to the development of Korean Baduk and become a cradle for nurturing the next generation of Baduk prodigies.”
