LH Holds '2021 Nambuk Exchange - Future Land Vision Contest'
Idea Contest on Urban Housing in North Korea and Inter-Korean City Cooperation
Submission Period: August 9 - September 10, Winners Announced and Awarded in October

[Asia Economy Reporter Jo Gang-wook] Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) announced on the 28th that it will jointly hold the "2021 Inter-Korean Exchange and Future National Land Vision" contest for the people of the Republic of Korea with the Korean Society of Land and Urban Planning.
Held for the second time following last year, this contest was organized to raise interest and understanding of peace and shared prosperity on the Korean Peninsula through participation from all walks of life and to build a national consensus.
In this contest, participants can conceive and propose projects related to inter-Korean exchange and cooperation, presenting diverse ideas on a wide range of topics including urban areas, housing, economic and tourism special zones in North Korea, infrastructure, use of the DMZ, and cooperation between cities in the South and North.
Participation is open to any Korean national born before 2002, and submissions can be made individually or in teams of up to three members.
The contest categories are divided into student and general divisions, and submissions can be made by choosing either a thesis (essay) or an infographic (panel).
Applications will be accepted online via the Korean Society of Land and Urban Planning website from August 9 to September 10 at 5 PM, and winners will be announced on October 11. Detailed schedules such as the announcement of results and award ceremonies will be individually notified to participants later.
The works will be judged by a panel of experts in related fields, with different evaluation criteria depending on whether the submission is a thesis or an infographic.
Theses will be evaluated based on △creativity and specificity of the topic △appropriateness of research methods △reliability of data △distinctiveness from existing research △contribution of research results, while infographics will be judged on △creativity and novelty of the topic △logical development and expressiveness of content △feasibility.
A total of up to 16 winning works will be selected, divided between the student and general divisions. Winners will receive awards from the Ministry of Unification, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the LH President, and the Korean Society of Land and Urban Planning President, along with a total prize money of 15 million KRW.
