[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] Noroo Paint was recognized for its contribution to supporting nationwide mural projects for crime prevention in high-risk areas for over 10 years through the 'Crime Prevention CPTED Project' in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice, and received the Prime Minister's Government Award at the Gwacheon Government Complex on the 24th.
CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) is an abbreviation for designing environments to prevent crime and protect residents' safety. Since 2016, Noroo Paint has signed an MOU for the CPTED project with the Ministry of Justice's Compliance Support Centers and has provided eco-friendly paint to more than 30 locations nationwide. The paint donations have contributed not only to the aesthetics of regions and streets but also to safety, earning commendations from the Ministry of Justice in 2016 and 2020.
Noroo Paint has also improved pedestrian environments with paint by creating traffic safety promotional murals in areas with heavy foot traffic to reduce over 10,000 annual child pedestrian traffic accidents, and by installing 'yellow footprints' and the eye-catching 'School Zone Guardian Yellow Carpet' at crosswalks in school zones. In collaboration with the Korea Transportation Safety Authority, Ewha Womans University, and other public-private-academic partners, the company has carried out the 'Traffic Safety Mural Painting' project, supplying all the paint needed for murals to 14 regional headquarters of the Korea Transportation Safety Authority nationwide.
Under the catchphrase "The beautiful equation where sharing does not halve but doubles," Noroo Paint continues various donation activities using paint to support places in need of improvement such as schools for the disabled, orphanages, welfare centers, and schools. Beyond nationwide mural projects, the company steadily pursues projects like cool roof initiatives and paint support for marginalized groups.
